Dryden Aqua AFM (Activated Filter Material) is an activated filter media for swimming pool sand filters, with properties and performance superior to conventional sand or crushed glass, filtering 30% more organic matter.
At a speed of 20 m/h a nominal filtration of 5 microns is achieved without flocculation.
Due to its lower specific gravity, 15% less AFM is required than sand. For example, if the filter contains 150 kg of sand, only 125 kg of AFM is needed.
Complies with UNE-EN 12904 and ISO 9001:2008 standards.
Best performing filter media according to independent study by IFTS (Institut de la Filtration et des Techniques Séparatives). Complete analysis in Lhe Swimming Pool Website
Available in 21 kg bags (equivalent to and with the same volume as a 25 kg bag of sand).
It is supplied in three different grades which must be used according to the proportions indicated in the table below.
Piscinayspa's advice
Given our experience in pool construction and maintenance, we have found that a domestic filter (up to 750 ø) will always filter better with grade 1.
If the filter is 750 ø it is not compulsory but it is advisable to make the layers with grade 1 and 2.
From 750 ø onwards, the different layers should be made with grade 1, 2 or 3 depending on the size of the filter and needs.
